Staring on Tuesday, January 10, personal and business members who use online and/or mobile banking will be prompted to enroll in 2-step verification: a secure and user-friendly way to identify our members using verification codes sent via SMS text or email.

2-step verification replaces personal "challenge" questions. For more detailed information about 2-step verification, please review the Frequently Asked Questions.

How to prepare for 2-step verification

All Kawartha online/mobile banking users must enroll in 2-step verification by March 7, 2023.

Here are some tips to help you prepare:

  • Have your Member Card/Access Only card number ready (see Frequently Asked Questions)
  • Be ready to reset the following features:
    • Memorized Accounts
    • Bioemetrics (Face ID/Touch ID) for Apple iphone iOS users

Did you know? The extra layer of security provided by features like 2-step verification can prevent up to 97% of phishing attempts.
